Sherry starts this week by sharing her own experience with trauma when the hurricane hit Florida, and how even as a trained therapist she felt the somatic and emotional symptoms of being in a trauma vortex. She and Carla also talk about how toxic positivity can sometimes impede us from feeling the real feelings we need to process our trauma. Sherry and Carla take a Love Fix question from a man dating a codependent woman, and is wondering how to help get her into therapy, but she has grown complacent. They welcome Love Fix guest Efu Nyaki, faculty member of Somatic Experiencing and a Professor of Family Constellation System Therapy. Efu was born and raised in Tanzania where she earned a Bachelor of Science, trained as a science teacher and later on was trained as a healer using holistic methods.
